Since seeing these on the runway I just had to have my own! Get a pair of the Elite Fashion Tights from Privatistas.com and make them your own. You can bedazzle them any way you fancy: dye, rhinestones, rips, etc. Here's how to get some snazzy dip dye tights for your gams.
Materials:
· One box of Rit Dye in the color of your choice
· Elite Fashion Tights
· Salt
· Detergent
Step by step:
1. Cover up and get a good pair of latex gloves. This works best to keep the color from smudging and running. (I can't count the amount of times I have not worn gloves and had to live with blue hands for a week. Not stylish.)
2. In the bath or shower mix your dye in some sort of tub. A dish pan or bucket works best and it should be at least a foot deep. Doing it in the shower keeps things from getting messy.
3. Rinse out your tights, in order to have a good gradient the material will need to be wet
4. Drop or dip your tights into the dye, don't completely cover them. Just dip them in as much as you would like to have them colored. For a high end designer look don't go too far past the upper calf.
5. Hang your tights over the bath or shower for 1-2 hours on a pants hanger. You'll see the gradient begin to pull.
6. Spray the pair with hairspray to seal in the color and stop the color from running.
7. Then rinse rinse rinse excess dye till the water runs clear, hang to completely dry.
8. Were them and make all your friends jealous.
